Type Locality and Naming

Northwest corner of Jianxi. The Xiushui Gr was named by the Jiangxi Party of Regional Geological Survey in 1979. The naming section is located at Guanyinge, north of Xiushui Couny, Jiangxi Province. Upward succession of the Guanyinge Fm, Chengshanting Fm, and Dongliukeng Fm.

Synonym: (修水群)


Lithology and Thickness

The Xiushui Gr consists of gray green tuffaceous sandstone and siltstone, slate. Grayish yellow sandstone and conglomerate in the bottom with complicated compositions of pebbles, which are mainly metamorphic rocks. It is 538 m thick.

Lower contact

It unconformable with the underlying Anlelin Fm (Jiuling Gr of Mesoproterozoic)

Upper contact

It is unconformable with the overlying Luokedong Fm or Liantuo Fm

Fossils

Microplants are found in lower part, Leiominuscula orientalis, Margominuscula aff. tennela, Orygmatosphaeridium exile, Leiopsophosphaera infriata, Trachysphaeridium simplex, T. hyalinum, Synsphaeridium conglutinatum.
